Jeff Thomsen began his journey into the fitness arena as a competitive swimmer. Today, his business and his passion are one and the same: the provision of unique, workable and cost-effective fitness solutions that meet the health and fitness equipment needs of companies, clubs, institutions and individuals. His pet peeve: the wrong equipment, incorrectly installed, and used in the wrong way, whether in a health club, hotel, spa, and corporate fitness center, or in the client’s home. “With so many outrageous, misleading claims made in this industry, in ads, on television and elsewhere, it’s no wonder buyers often end up choosing less than ideal equipment, over-spending, and not getting the follow-up and customer care they deserve,” says Thomsen. His career trajectory has given Jeff a solid foundation for overcoming these common dilemmas and serving his clients with maximum effectiveness. After graduating from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Health, Thomsen began a five-year stint as a personal trainer, on-the-ground training that provided him with a clear understanding of the diverse needs of individuals of all ages and at all stages of health and fitness. During that period he also served as the Fitness Manager in the Greater Philadelphia area (1997-2002). Next, he served as Regional Sales Representative for Life Fitness & Hammer Strength, Philadelphia, PA (2002-2004). Where he garnered significant sales and management experience. Building on that experience, he took on a more ambitious role in New York, NY as their Regional Sales Manager for Vertical Markets (2004-2007) launching their East Coast sales operations. Driving sales programs in the corporate, multifamily, medical, government, educational and hospitality arenas, he broadened his ability to understand company’s needs regarding equipment supply, flooring, lockers, construction, and facility management arenas. In 2007 Thomsen finally established his own company, FE Consulting Group LLC (FEC) and its direct arm, Fitness Depot Direct (www.fitnessdepotdirect.com). As both a fitness facility development company and a fitness equipment dealership, Thomsen and his team market to commercial and high end retail clients, homeowners, online via Ebay, and to wholesale local and international markets. The company works with corporations that want to establish an on-site health facility for their staff, with health clubs, hotels, spas, cruise ships, casinos and other venues that have or plan to establish fitness centers and want the best equipment at the best value. They also work with individuals who want the right fitness equipment to meet their home fitness needs. Jeff prides himself on understanding what each market’s equipment needs are, and assists them to develop fitness spaces that are functional and safe no matter how large or small. He and his team source the right equipment, negotiate the best deal, and then help coordinate all installation and delivery of equipment. From start to finish, they provide every client with remarkable customer service and support.
